Battlefield: Bad Company 2: A First Glimpse

Hmm battlefield. I don't know about battlefield. I just played the demo for about an hour. I tried out all the classes. Essentially Sniper, LMG, SMG, Assault rifle - just with different names. I like the fact that each class comes with support for other players like a med-kit that you can drop in case your teammate is injured, or a tool for fixing machines like tanks or sentry guns, or extra ammo that you can drop for teammates as well. Another good aspect of team play is the ability to tell the team what to do and where to go with a click of a button (although one can already do that with a mic in any other game). It is these two things that provide more of a team aspect than other good FPS' I have played. Aiming is annoying though. Lots of recoil and the sights are terrible. The gun when in zoom looks really big and blocks half of the screen. It's like looking through a really small hole in a big ass wall. Aesthetically, the game looks really nice - very vivid and interactive environments that make the maps seem like real battlefields. As far as the controls go, I have to say they are kind of clunky. Running around corners is no easy task as your body wobbles tremendously(which I guess is pretty realistic). Clicking the R3 button to crouch is annoying, and clicking the R2 button brings out a ridiculously slow knife movement. I'll update this post as I play some more. One hour is not enough time to truly realize the potential of this demo.

Sorry if this might feel rushed. I haven't been posting recently due to a busy school schedule and I really shouldn't even be posting now! I will have the Bioshock review up in due time, but like I said, busy schedule :(.
